Courtroom officials are accepting that remote hearings are an important alternative to in-person court attendance. Everyone will want to put their best "face" forward for these very important video calls.
Some Video tips and ideas to make sure you look professional:
Dress appropriately. Dress the same as you would for an in-person meeting. First impressions matter! When in doubt dress up never dress down!
Fill your face with light. To add lighting to your call, get two lamps and position them on either side of your desk. Your face will be illuminated from both sides, and you will avoid unnatural shades
Raise your camera: Position your camera at eye level or higher. Make sure to look at the camera as much as possible.
Find a quiet place and use your best headphones
Choose a neutral background
Check your tech. Do a test run for going live! Check your internet connection, make sure you know how to mute and unmute your microphone
Body language. Sit up straight with your feet on the floor. Pay attention to the expression on your face.
Keep distractions away. Clear the room!
